Eagle Academy is an information age learning center established in cyberspace with the vision of harnessing the tools of our technological age for the purpose of educating the next generation. Eagle Academy is a private nonprofit organization which exists primarily to provide support and services to parents who choose to homeschool their children. Our courses and services are available to anyone wishing quality educational materials. The innovation of Eagle Academy's approach was recognized nationally when our students received Time/AT&T's grand prize in 1995 for the best use of telecommunications in education for our Gilgamesh Epic project. Curriculum and services we offer help students meet high academic standards, integrate the resources of the National Information Infrastructure (NII), better known as the Internet, and offer flexibility for families.
Our specialty is helping parents to establish at home a "computerized home school" for their child to take advantage of the now numerous educational opportunities offered by today's software and the Internet. Such a school can range from a completely online home school, where the student "logs in" via telephone modem to Eagle Academy's curriculum Web pages, to a completely self-contained, computerized home school environment where the home school resources are placed entirely on the student's home computer via a set of CD-ROMs. We include "paper, pencil, and book" learning methodologies into either plan to diversify his or her skills proficiency.
