A very important requirement for admission to Eagle Academy is:

1. We need to have a sample of the student's communication skills to help us individualize their curriculum. Therefore we ask students to provide us with a short biographical sketch 1-2 pages in their own penmanship. We ask parents to please resist the impulse to improve on the students work by making corrections or suggestions. If the student is enrolling in Level I they can still complete this assignment be narrating to their parent about themselves and, to whatever extent they can, writing a sentence or two. 2. The first short paragraph of the paper should be an explanation to Eagle Academy what the paper is, that is, the student is sending a biographical sketch to Eagle Academy as a requirement of admission. 3. The student should address an envelope to Eagle Academy for the paper, stamp the envelope, and see to the mailing of the paper to Eagle Academy at the address below. The parent may of course help the student with this task. (This may be the student's first experience with mailing something.)

Optional Items

Lastly, some optional items could be included, as follows: 1. A photograph of the student, with the parent's written permission to post the photo on an Eagle Academy Web page, so the students can "see each other." 2. A student's "online biographical sketch" to accompany the photo. Could be something like "Hi! I'm Jason Polander and I like lizards," or something more grand. 3. Examples of the student's prior academic work that can be spared, photocopies preferred. (I.e. these materials can not be depended on to be returned. None of these will show online unless the parent and student request and it's practical to place them online, such as a small artwork, short story (even if written by someone else, as long as it was written out or typed by student and attribution is given), student slogan, poem, or such.)
